PyroZeus Statement on Safe Shipping

October 21, 2025 By PyroZeus Staff 0

During this year’s “Exploweek” (13 – 19 October 2025) police forces across the Netherlands, together with the ILT and several postal and parcel-providers, carried out a widespread inspection of parcels. The result: nearly 200 kg of heavy illegal fireworks (in the F3/F4-categories) were discovered in 19 parcels at sorting centres.
The focus was on shipments originating from Poland, the Czech Republic and Hungary — historically recognised as major source countries for heavy illegal fireworks.

The parcels have all been seized and will be destroyed safely. In addition to shipments within the Netherlands, four parcels heading to Portugal and one to Belgium were also intercepted: even if a product is legal in its destination country, Dutch customs and police must enforce national law when the dispatch occurs via the Netherlands.

Parcel- and post-companies cooperated fully in this inspection effort, partly to safeguard their staff from potential danger. The police and ILT are now investigating the senders and recipients; information about recipients will be passed on to local fireworks coordinators, who may initiate follow-up visits.

Our company, PyroZeus, wants to underline that we never use mainstream parcel services (such as PostNL, DHL, DPD, UPS, etc.) for the transportation of fireworks or any explosive materials.

This recent police operation clearly shows what can happen when people try to send heavy fireworks through regular postal channels — confiscations, criminal investigations, and serious safety risks for everyone involved.

Instead, PyroZeus uses specialised, certified logistics partners who meet strict European ADR safety regulations. This ensures that every shipment is properly documented, transported, and stored according to legal standards.

By avoiding mainstream parcel networks, we protect both our customers and our brand reputation — prioritising safety, compliance, and reliability above all.
